What equipment do I need for the course?

Can I do the course on my phone?
No, the course requires a laptop or desktop. We have considered making the course work on phones, but it is very difficult to fit the mixing UI on such a small screen, and it would be even harder to make a good learning experience.
Therefore, we focused our efforts on making the course really good on big screens.
(You can still read text and look at images on your phone.)

I have never made music on a computer before. Can I still do the course?
Yes. You don't need to know anything about digital music production to do the course.
However, to get the most out of the course, we recommend that you have a DAW (like Logic, Ableton, Cubase) installed, and that you work through our real-life exercises where you apply what you've learned to your own music.
Take this as an opportunity to get started working on your music on the computer!
Will you cover all the effects used in mixing?
No. We intentionally focus only on the _most important_ effects and their _main knobs_.
We believe in having solid fundamentals first. When you have the fundamentals down, you'll find it pretty easy to learn about more advanced effects and functionality. After you've gone through The Core of Mixing, you will be well equipped to learn more details from other resources online.
I've already released some recordings myself. Will I get anything out of the course?
Probably! People who have mixing/production experience enjoy doing the exercises, and while they might know the concepts, they've found new techniques and approaches useful in their music making.
That said, this course is made first for people who feel unsure about how to mix sounds on the computer.
